What is Kohl's Retail EDI?

Kohl’s Retail is the replenishment program for Kohl’s distribution centers and stores. It’s one of the more complete Kohl’s document sets, covering orders, product activity, store-to-DC relationships, routing, and remittance — and, unlike many retailers, Kohl’s retail program doesn’t use a purchase order acknowledgment at all.

Store and DC relationships. Kohl’s publishes which stores belong to which distribution center. Your orders, ship notices, and labels all have to agree with it. We use that file so they do.
Carton labels that match the ASN. Kohl’s GS1-128 carton labels have to match the ship notice carton for carton. We generate both from the same shipment data.
Product activity you can use. We bring Kohl’s store-level sales and inventory data into your system for replenishment planning.
Remittance that ties back. We deliver Kohl’s remittance detail alongside the invoices it pays, so your team can reconcile payments and research deductions quickly.

How it works

Confirm your program. You ship to Kohl’s distribution centers or stores.

We certify with Kohl’s. Orders in; ship notices, invoices, and acknowledgments out; plus product activity, store relationships, and remittance if your program uses them.
You go live. Orders flow in, and everything Kohl’s expects back flows out automatically.

Technical notes

Kohl’s Retail runs on the retail industry’s X12 4010 standard and uses two interchange identifiers, each switched between test and production on its own. Kohl’s doesn’t use a purchase order acknowledgment for retail orders, so we don’t send one. Our Kohl’s library holds Kohl’s current retail mapping guides for every document above.

No. Kohl’s doesn’t use a purchase order acknowledgment for retail orders, so Tech85 doesn’t send one on this connection.

What labeling does Kohl’s Retail require?

A GS1-128 carton label that matches the ship notice carton for carton, generated from the same shipment data to keep both in sync.

Is Kohl’s Retail the same connection as Kohls.com drop-ship?

No. They’re separate connections with separate identifiers. Suppliers who also ship Kohls.com customer orders need a Kohls.com drop-ship connection as well.
